Every church is shaped by something—some by tradition, others by strong personalities, and still others by the surrounding culture. But in the middle of his letter, Paul gives Timothy three vivid metaphors that cast a different vision: a church shaped not by convenience or trend, but by the gospel itself.
Big Idea: A gospel-shaped church lives out her new identity and life in response to the truth of the gospel.
- The Household of God: Defined by Her New Identity in Christ (14-15a)
- The Assembly of the Living God: Directed by Her New Life in Christ (15b)
